Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian born actress. She made her debut on the huge screen in Sex Traffic by Channel 4 in which she won the British Academy Television Award was awarded to the best actress. French, German English and Romanian are the most spoken languages. Her father is a theatre professor at one of Romania's top theater schools. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. In 2008, she was recognized as an 'Eastern Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. Her role as a character in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 months 3 weeks and 2 zile (4 months 3 weeks and two days), won both three weeks and a day. Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two additional awards: the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film where she starred. In 2008, Marinca played Yasim in BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca has appeared in the Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. In the movie Fury (2014), she appeared as Irma who was the German woman who served as Emma's aunt.
