Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she shifted her focus to music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. This album also featured songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown the city of New York Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was a different project. A musician and author was in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for an actor for a third venture. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed major roles in a variety of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
